An important thing about the good leadership is that a supervisor must remember that he is just one man. The men under him may be 70 or 700; but no matter how hard the supervisor works, he cannot do much more than one man’s work. So a leader’s primary function is to ensure that the work of all men under him is proportionally organized. When a supervisor goes to his office or his workshop in the morning, he must not think so much of what he himself is going to do for the day; it’s far more important for him to think of what various men under him are going to do.
